UNITS - 2nd Post Doc

International Center for Theoritical Physics (ICTP, founded by a Nobel lauret Prof. abdus salaam), is one of the successful organisations in Europe, promoting science and technology for more than 47 years. ICTP provides fellowship (called, TRIL) to the deserved scientists in developing countries. Though I belong to Molecular Biology, I was awarded TRIL fellowship....

Later, I was given Fellow award by International Center for Science and High Technology [ICS - UNIDO] to continue the work in CoffeeDNA, [A database on Coffee Genomics] University of Trieste...

CCMB - 1st Post Doc

I would still say, CCMB is my dream world, where I learnt how to do research. Here is my first Post doc. An excellent experience for 3 years with Dr. Ramesh Agarwal's lab, delt with Coffee genomics...

TNAU - Ph.D

I joined for Doctorate in Department of Genetics and Plant breeding during 1996. Initially, I was assigned to work on Rice Apomixis, but later switched to Mocropropagation and Molecular characterisation of an endangered tree species, Red Sanders (Pterocarpus santalinus).

The work involves identification/collection of RedSanders tree form forests of different part of the country, establishing the propagules in the laboratory, multiplying them through micropropagation. RedSanders is a 'tanin' rich tree and so standardising techniques for tissue culture were challenging. Furthermore the collected /established materials were characterised using molecular markers.

TNAU - M.Sc

I joined for Master Degree in Department of Genetics and Plant breeding during 1994. First time in my life I have started doing independent research. I am thankful to my senior MK. Amarlal and my guide, Dr. P. Vaidyanathan, who brought research sprit inside me...
